The Creature From Jekyll Island (Part 6)
Intro:
I bet you have one imagined a dystopian future; a future you fear we are heading to. Maybe you have pictured a future where the average person slaves their life away. Like robots they work all day; their actions are fully controlled. Quality of life has fully degraded as people live in compact, never-ending cities. Depressed and grey, they count their days alone. But not everyone lives this life. The top 1% live extravagant lives as they hold 99% of the power. However, this way of life can not be sustained and eventually, people get tired and agitated. Revolts are inevitable and quickly approaching. Two sides fight; one to gain power the other to preserve theirs.
The scenario above is not a completely far-fetched interpretation of what the future could look like. With median house prices being 6X the average wage in the US and other necessary expenses increasing due to inflation, people are forced to work harder and longer to sustain their lifestyle. The GDP of the US is $27.36 trillion. An individual would have to earn an average of $407,500 annually to join the top 1%. A household would need an income of $591,550. The median household income in the U.S. was $74,580 in 2022. There are 2,781 billionaires worldwide with a cumulative wealth valued at $14.2 trillion in 2024. Currently, in the UK, there are violent riots because the people are agitated and they need someone to blame. The people are targeted and innocent and severely blamed for the economic disparity that the average person in the UK is experiencing.
