While companies like Rolls Royce don’t use marketing, mostly because very few people can afford their products, but also because it helps to convey a sense of luxury and exclusivity held by the brand. Even everyday companies like Krispy Kreme and Zara, who despite the heavy use of marketing in their industries, thrive while spending basically nothing on marketing.
I thought I would talk about this topic because the book I found can be both beneficial for customers and business owners. It talks about the flaws in human psychology and how those flaws, combined with market data can help to sell vast quantities of your product. As a customer, you can take the knowledge from this book and use it to be more aware of the tricks and tactics that companies use to make you spend more than you need to. As a business owner you can take the knowledge from this book to understand your audience and grow your brand. Either way, advertising is all about selling a persona, an image of yourself that makes people associate you with something superficial. And if you have ever wanted to improve your storytelling and people skills, learning sales and advertising techniques will help you achieve this goal and prosper in any field.
