The Creature From Jekyll Island (Part 5)
Intro:
America's relationship with the United Kingdom is rooted in the shared history, language, and democratic values that bind them together; it has existed for centuries, starting from colonization and conflicts and, now, has taken on a robust partnership. Before and after World War II, the Anglo-American alliance developed stronger as the two nations got closer to destroying common enemies and remodeling the post-war world. It extended its cooperation throughout the Cold War period, as both the nations significantly contributed towards the making of NATO and other international groups that would safeguard world peace and at the same time restore the position of the West.
The UK and the US collaborate on a wide span of issues, from defense and intelligence to trade and cultural exchanges. In this regard, high-level dialogues are a normalcy, and their armies perform joint military operations to reinforce their strategic value on the safety and development of eachother. Economically, they also represent vital trade partners, and investment flows are substantial between these two economies. Besides, they shares cultural bonds, with the free flow of ideas, art, literature, media, and technology across the Atlantic further stitching kinship. For all the disagreements that crop up now and then over policy and approach, that is the skeleton of the relationship between America and the UK: mutual respect and strategic partnership in dealing with global challenges and the defence of democratic values the world over.
